There is something incredibly powerful about hearing real stories from real people, because they remind you that lasting change is not just possible, it is happening every single day.
In a recent episode of The Weight’s Over Live Show, we had the pleasure of speaking with Sian and Bethan, two sisters who are both on Slimpod, and while their journeys have looked very different, they have both experienced something truly life-changing.
Two sisters, two journeys
ian joined Slimpod around 18 months ago after saying something many people will recognise. She knew what she needed to do to lose weight, but she could not make herself do it.
That feeling of knowing but not doing can be exhausting.
Today, Sian is nearly eight stone lighter and has gone from a size 24 to an 8–10. What is striking is not just the weight loss, but how she describes the process. She does not feel like she is constantly trying or battling with herself. It has become natural, almost automatic.
That is what happens when habits change at a subconscious level, because you are no longer relying on willpower alone.
Bethan’s journey has taken a different path. She started Slimpod, lost weight, and later used weight loss medication due to health challenges. During that time, there were periods where the scales did not move.
In the past, that might have led to frustration or giving up.
But this time, something was different.
She did not regain weight, and more importantly, her relationship with food changed. The stress eating eased, the pressure lifted, and she found a more balanced way of being around food.
That kind of change goes far beyond what the scales can show.
The power of having someone beside you
What makes this story even more special is how it began.
Bethan introduced Sian to Slimpod.
From that moment, they have supported each other, encouraged each other, and allowed each other to have completely different experiences without comparison or pressure.
That is exactly what makes a community so powerful.
When you are surrounded by people who understand what you are going through, it creates a sense of safety. You feel less alone, more supported, and more able to keep going, even when things feel uncertain.
Time and time again, I see that this sense of connection plays a huge role in helping people create lasting change.
Learning to be kind to yourself
Both Sian and Bethan spoke about something that often gets overlooked.
They have learned to be kinder to themselves.
This might be allowing a croissant without guilt, or recognising that progress is not always measured by the scales. It is about stepping away from the all-or-nothing thinking that keeps so many people stuck.
As that pressure lifts, something else begins to grow.
Trust.
When you start trusting yourself around food, everything feels calmer and more manageable, and the need to control or restrict begins to fade.
A journey worth sharing
Stories like Sian and Bethan’s matter because they show what is possible in a way that feels real and achievable.
And if you are part of Slimpod, there is a good chance you know someone who could benefit from feeling this way too.
For a limited time, when you refer a friend, you will receive £15, and your friend will receive 15% off Slimpod.
Sometimes the most meaningful thing you can do is simply share something that has helped you
A final thought
Sian and Bethan may have taken different routes, but they have both created something incredibly powerful.
They have changed the way they think and feel about food.
And from there, everything else has followed.
Wherever you are in your journey, remember that you do not have to do this perfectly.
You just need the right support, the right approach, and the willingness to keep going.
Because when your mind begins to change, everything else can change with it.
