Arianna spent most of her life at what she considers a normal weight. She said she would’ve liked to have lost 5 pounds or so when she was at this normal weight. And now that she has ballooned up to well over 30 pounds heavier than that, she would be jumping for joy and dancing the Irish Jig if she was at her old weight. I’m sure you can identify with her feelings if you’re experiencing weight difficulty now too.

Well, after a particularly bad split with her former boyfriend, she felt very sad, saw a doctor who put her on some medication and as a result, immediately gained over 30 pounds in a very short amount of time. Since then, her emotions have stabilized but she has not been able to successfully remove the weight she put on as a result of what seems to be emotional eating.

A good part of her very first session was spent debunking the myths of hypnosis. Until they become habits, there does need to be a bit of Arianna’s conscious effort involved. It is much easier to follow the healthy habits after hypnosis because her mind has become accustomed to the new behaviors even before she begins.

After satisfying Arianna’s need to know about hypnosis and making sure she is onboard with being hypnotized without any fears or misconceptions, the hypnosis process begins. Arianna slips into a relaxing trance state that is not sleep nor is it fully awake consciousness. It’s a state similar to the one that we enter just before we go deeply asleep each night. During this time of deep trance hypnosis Arianna is given suggestions for the changes that have been determined she wants to make to assure she will begin the weight loss process.

Upon emerging from trance, Arianna feels wonderfully relaxed and very upbeat. She leaves the office with a new sense of confidence and optimism. In the short span of about an hour she became totally committed to working toward revamping her relationship with food, and her thoughts about food.

This is an ongoing process so she has a number of sessions scheduled. Each follow up session will focus on her responses. The good responses will be reinforced and the bad responses will be neutralized. If those negative emotions continue to play a role in her eating behaviors, using advanced hypnotic techniques she will become free of feeling bad for imagined reasons.
