HERE’S proof that dreams can come true. I just love this picture! Debbie Cox and Becca Jones have come so far with their Slimpods and seeing them both together in this picture made me very emotional! Last Sunday was the Brighton Half Marathon and Debbie Cox and Becca Jones ranthe 13.2 miles in the lovely sunshine!
What makes this extra special for me is that they are two of our Slimpod Stars and met via Darin McCloud who won the Slimpod Star crown last year!
Darin sadly couldn’t run this one because of injury but he has changed his life completely since we came into contact with him two years ago. Darin and Becca ran the London Marathon together last year – another dream come true.
Darin and Debbie were FB friends and Debbie liked our page after seeing something Darin had posted.
In June 2012 we posted up a request for people with sweet tooth issues to get in touch and Debbie took us up on our offer of a Slimpod. We were running an NHS Study and needed to track people’s progress.
That was quite a turning point for her!! She lost her sweet tooth, lost weight and started to become more and more confident!!
She then nominated Becca Jones for a Slimpod Star prize – little did she know that she would get one, too!!
Debbie is on the same journey as the others now and as every day passes her confidence in herself is growing and there’s a bit of weight-loss going on too (nearly 2 stone lost so far!).
