Here’s a delicious carrot, orange and pineapple smoothie to get your day off to a brilliant start! It’s packed full of essential vitamins and nutrients so makes a great healthy drink to accompany your breakfast in the morning.
Carrots are a great source of antioxidant agents and are rich in vitamin A, C, K, and B8, pantothenic acid, folate, potassium, iron, copper, and manganese. So basically these veggies pack a punch when it comes to goodness and nutritional value in a smoothie! The vitamin C in the orange and pineapple is going to help you to fight off coughs and colds as the season changes. Pineapples are also a great source of the element manganese which is used to make enzymes which assist with transforming food into energy.

Ingredients for Carrot, Orange and Pineapple Smoothie
- 3/4 cup frozen pineapple chunks
- The juice of one fresh orange
- 1/4 cup chopped raw carrot
- 1/2 banana
- A little chilled water
As with all smoothies, the method is simple – chuck all the ingredients into your blender, whizz them together and enjoy. Adjust the water content to get your preferred consistency.
Variations
If you want to increase the fibre content of the smoothie to make you feel fuller, then just peel the orange, remove the seeds and chuck it in whole rather than juicing it.
If you have a fresh pineapple in your kitchen then use that instead of frozen.
If you would like to use the smoothie as a breakfast substitute instead of just a drink, then add some protein and/or healthy fats to it. I like to add a seed mixture to my morning smoothies, and bulk them up with oats if I want the smoothie to last me a bit longer. If you are adding ingredients like this, you will probably need to blend the smoothie for a bit longer to get a smoother mix.
