Long-Term Slimpod Success: How Podders Keep Weight Off for Years

If you’ve ever worried about what happens after the weight comes off, you’re going to love this one. We’ll be hearing from Podders who’ve kept it off for years and their top tips!

When you listen closely to Podders who’ve maintained for the long haul, you start to hear the same themes coming through. Consistency. Community. Self-awareness. Returning to the basics when life gets busy. Letting Slimpod do the deeper work, while you keep showing up.

Frances: ten years on, and the emotional eating grip has loosened

Frances stood up during a Q&A at a recent The Weight’s Over: Take Back Control event and told me she’d been a Podder for over ten years and had kept the weight off.

Frances speaks about the emotional roots of eating and how Slimpod helped her make better choices before she saw big changes on the scales. She lost 3.5 stone, but the bigger shift is in how she sees herself and how she turns up in her life now.

Ali: less panic, more choice, and habits that hold their ground

Ali lost three stone in around nine months, and a couple of years on, the weight has stayed off because she’s kept the changes going. She moved away from calorie counting and instead created a simple morning routine that keeps her in the right headspace, helps her build movement into her day, and makes it easier to notice and catch the “little habits” before they turn into a slide.

Tips from Ali:

  1. Keep listening consistently
  2. Create a morning reset that puts you in the right mindset (quiet time, affirmations, visualising your day).
  3. Build small, practical defaults that make healthier choices easier (keeping fruit available for snacks).

Lorraine: confidence returning, and food no longer running the show

Lorraine describes Slimpod as a lifesaver because it changed the way she felt about herself.

Lorraine lost 12 stone, and she’s kept the change going for 9 years and counting. She talks about going from avoiding people to being the life and soul of the party. And swapping black clothes that hid her body for colourful clothes she really enjoys.

Tips from Lorraine:

  1. Immerse yourself in the program and follow it all.
  2.  Be organised. I used to batch cook every few weeks, so I always had wholesome food in the freezer, which was easy and therefore didn’t pick up takeaway on the way home from work.
  3. Find some activity or form of exercise that you love; if you don’t, you won’t stick to it.

Darin: the one-minute start that turned into 11 years of freedom

Darin’s story is the one I think about whenever someone says they need to “wait until they feel ready”. He started his exercise journey with one minute of running and one minute of walking. That was it. A small, realistic beginning that his brain could accept. Now he has over 300 medals for running and even participated in an Iron Man challenge.

He lost around six stone, improved his health, and kept the weight off for well over a decade.

Tips from Darin:

  1. Listen to the pods—consistently. At the start, I listened every single night for six months straight because I was terrified of failing. If you’re struggling, just keep listening. It works.
  2. Trust the process. It may take time, but Slimpod reprograms your mind in ways that last a lifetime. Unlike diets that set you up for failure, this is about long-term change.
  3. Find what makes you feel good. For me, it was running and cycling. For you, it might be something else. But movement is a gift, not a punishment. Enjoy it.

Ava: six years in, and no longer at the mercy of sugar

Ava’s story is a masterclass in what happens when cravings lose their power. She describes herself as a lifelong sugarholic, and then something shifted, Slimpod changed her automatic behaviour.

She dropped from a size 14/16 to a size 8 and has now maintained it for six years. What she shares that’s most useful for long-term success is this: food becomes neutral. It stops being a constant conversation in your head. When that happens, maintenance isn’t a daily battle. It’s just your life.

The long-term themes every maintainer shares

When you strip the stories back, the patterns are clear:

  • They keep listening, especially when life gets noisy.
  • They notice emotions earlier, so food doesn’t have to do the job.
  • They recover quickly from wobbles instead of turning them into a spiral.
  • They stay connected, because community is a stabiliser.

You don’t have to do this on your own. If Slimpod has helped you, bringing a friend into the community can be the nudge that changes their year — and it often strengthens your own consistency too.
