There’s something incredibly special that happens when Slimpodders connect in real life. It’s hard to put into words, but if you’ve ever shared a journey with someone who just gets it—who understands the emotional ups and downs, the quiet wins, the huge mental shifts—then you’ll know exactly what I mean.
Recently, three wonderful podders—Lisa, Jo, and Jayne—did something extraordinary. They signed up for the Rob Roy Mighty Hike and walked over 26 miles through the stunning (and soggy!) Scottish Highlands. But this was more than just a hike. It was a celebration of everything Slimpod represents: connection, growth, belief, and joy.

The Podding Plodders Take On Rob Roy
They jokingly called themselves the “Podding Plodders”
Lisa shared:
“It was a great day and I finally got to meet Jo and Jayne who are both fabulous human beings. The last 6 miles we had torrential rain and it was tough mentally, but what a great day, great cause, and a brilliant weekend.”
This wasn’t just about physical endurance. It was about showing up for themselves and each other. Jayne echoed this beautifully:
“3 drenched podders have completed the Mighty Hike Rob Roy Way! We started together and finished together. As of last night, we’d only met online—we haven’t stopped chatting and are now proper friends.”
That right there? That’s the power of this community.

A Journey Through Menopause—and Beyond
For Jo, the Mighty Hike was more than a physical challenge. It symbolised a deep, personal journey through menopause—one marked by resilience, self-compassion and growth.
“Before and during my journey with Slimpod, I faced many symptoms of menopause—weight gain, disturbed sleep, mood swings, anxiety, and a loss of self-worth. But I refused to let them define me and cause limited beliefs.”
Jo embraced the foundations of Slimpod—habit formation, self-trust, nourishment—and began rebuilding her relationship with her body and mind. She used exercise as empowerment, not punishment. She learned to listen to her full signal, prioritise sleep, hydrate, and quiet the anxiety with breathwork and mindfulness.
And that hike? It became a metaphor for everything she’s overcome.
“Completing the hike was a testament to the power of self-help and personal growth aided by the fundamental principles of Slimpod.”
Now Jo is paying it forward—training to become a menopause coach and reawakening her therapeutic skills to support other women.

The Real Magic? Connection
When people say Slimpod isn’t just about weight loss, this is what they mean.
It’s about:
- Meeting someone you’ve only known online and becoming instant friends
- Feeling strong again after years of self-doubt
- Turning a challenge into a celebration of everything you’ve overcome
- Walking in the rain and not giving up because someone next to you is cheering you on
Jo summed it up so well:
“I’ve made two lovely new friends (podders) from doing this challenge, Lisa and Jayne, The Rob Roy Mighty Hike brought us together, we’ve made great memories together and shared our stories of growth. ”
And it is. We see it time and time again. That magic of one person lighting a spark in another. That quiet encouragement that says: “You can do this too.”

If You're Feeling Inspired...
Let this be your reminder that you’re not alone.
Whether you’re just starting out and feeling a bit nervous, or you’ve been on the journey a while and you’re ready for your next challenge—know that this community is here. Always.
If you’ve ever thought “I could never do something like that”, I want to gently challenge that belief. Because as Jo, Lisa, and Jayne have shown us—it’s about showing up, supporting each other, one step at a time, even in the rain.
And who knows? You might just meet a lifelong friend along the way.
