Jackie almost gave up after a few weeks
Like many people, Jackie had tried countless diets over the years. She would lose weight, regain it, and find herself back where she started.
When she joined Slimpod in January 2024, she wasn’t convinced it would be any different.
In fact, after a couple of weeks she cancelled her membership because she thought it wasn’t working.
Then she stopped and asked herself whether she had really given it a chance.

The changes happened before she expected them to
Looking back, Jackie still finds it hard to explain exactly when things started to shift.
Her food choices began to change naturally. Foods she had eaten every day no longer appealed in the same way.
For years, she had enjoyed a mini cheesecake every evening. Gradually, that was naturally replaced with Greek yoghurt, fruit and seeds. It wasn’t forced, what she wanted just shifted.
By the summer of 2025, Jackie had reduced her weight from 15 stone 5 pounds to 12 stone 11 pounds through Slimpod alone.
She felt healthier, happier and had more energy than she had experienced in years.
Why patience became her biggest lesson
Jackie describes herself as a slow loser.
As she watched conversations online about weight loss injections, she began wondering if she could speed things up.
She decided to try Mounjaro alongside her Slimpod journey.
The weight came off more quickly, but she quickly realised something did not feel right for her.
She had very little appetite and often struggled to eat enough. The exercise she had been enjoying stopped completely because she felt exhausted most of the time.
Looking back, Jackie says the experience taught her an important lesson.
She realised that losing weight quickly was not as important as feeling healthy, energetic and in control.
Understanding food changed everything
One of the biggest breakthroughs for Jackie came from learning more about what food does inside the body.
She became fascinated by the way sugar, carbohydrates and insulin affect weight and health.
Instead of simply asking whether a food was low fat or low calorie, she started asking a different question.
“What is this doing inside my body?”
That shift changed the way she thought about food completely.
Rather than following rules, she became more aware of the choices she was making and how those choices made her feel.
Her mind took longer to catch up than her body
After losing 6 stone, Jackie found herself facing a challenge she had never expected.
She still automatically reached for larger clothes sizes.
On one shopping trip she picked up a size 16 pair of jeans. Then she tried a size 14. Eventually she took home a size 12 and was convinced they would not fit.
They fitted perfectly.
Jackie laughs that her brain is still catching up with what her body has achieved.
Many Slimpodders will recognise that feeling. Sometimes the physical changes happen before we fully believe them ourselves.

If there is one thing Jackie would tell anyone starting their journey, it is to be patient.
Today she continues to listen to her Slimpod, plan her meals, exercise regularly and enjoy the healthy habits she has built.
The weight loss matters, but what matters even more is that she trusts herself around food again.
