Recently, something truly important happened in the House of Commons.
In a room filled with experts, politicians, and health leaders, the conversation finally shifted—from blame to understanding. And at the centre of that shift was Professor Adrian Heald.
Adrian is a consultant physician who’s spent his career working on the front lines of health inequality in Greater Manchester. He’s not just an expert—he’s someone who’s seen the devastating impact of obesity on real lives, real communities, and our NHS.
He’s also the man who will be running our impending clinical trial and wrote the foreword to my book: The Weight’s Over: Take Back Control!
So when Adrian speaks, people listen. And what he shared at the Parliamentary summit was this:
Obesity is not a personal failure. It’s a biological, social, and economic challenge.

The NHS Is at Breaking Point
Adrian and his team modelled the long-term cost of obesity to the NHS. The result?
Up to £100,000 per person over a lifetime.
It’s not just about weight—it’s about diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, joint problems, and mental health. It’s about resources stretched to the brink.
And here’s the truth: unless we embrace scalable, sustainable change, the system won’t cope.

Showcasing a New Way Forward
That’s why it meant so much that Slimpod was mentioned as part of the solution at this landmark event.
Because Slimpod isn’t a diet. It doesn’t ask people to count calories or rely on willpower. It changes behaviour by changing the brain.
It’s rooted in neuroscience, psychology, and over a decade of research. And it works.
People feel in control around food for the first time in years. They stop bingeing. They eat better—not because they’re told to, but because they want to.
And that’s where the power lies.

Time to Change the Narrative
The summit sent a clear message: the way we talk about obesity must change. This isn’t about laziness. It’s not about greed. It’s about biology, environment, and inequality.
As Adrian said, the science is clear—and the cost of ignoring it is too high.
We are incredibly proud that Slimpod was recognised in the House of Commons as a powerful, preventative tool in the fight against obesity.
This is about more than weight. It’s about restoring hope, dignity, and health.
And it starts with understanding that it’s not your fault.
